Traditional song and dance preserve Kenyan culture and enhance self-esteem
Traditional song and dance are an integral part of Kenyan culture, but these important art forms will disappear without support.
Camp Ohana helps girls in western Kenya to preserve their culture, foster friendships, and enhance self-esteem by learning and performing traditional song and dance. The girls meet every weekend and daily during the school holidays to learn traditional songs and dances as well as create new ones.
In the future, Camp Ohana hopes to record these songs so that they can reach a wider audience and provide a small source of income for the girls.
A monthly micro-donation of just $5 can help us take this program to the next level. Please donate now.
