A simple disposable camera can capture a child’s unique perspective
Most of us document our lives through photography regularly. Our camera phones allow us to
preserve and share important or joyful moments any time.
For poor children in western Kenya, the Camp Ohana photography program may be the first
time they have ever seen a camera, and certainly the first time they’ve had a chance to use one
to capture their own unique view of the world.
The program teaches the children basic photography techniques and distributes disposable
cameras to give them hands-on experience. The benefits are twofold: the children learn new
technical and artistic skills, and they also get to document and share their daily lives with
children in North America.
A monthly micro-donation of just $5 can provide photography materials and training for as many as children - Please donate now.
